Creek Week Sonderman Park Forest Health Volunteer Registration

We are excited to offer the 2nd Annual Forest Health Restoration project at Sondermann Park!

This is a forest health initiative that will engage citizen volunteers to work alongside City staff to remove invasive species near Mesa Creek in Sonderman Park as an activity on Thursday September 30th during Creek Week. A healthy forest is critical for a healthy watershed. Sondermann Park is one of hundreds of locations within the Fountain Creek Watershed that has been taken over by non-native, invasive trees including Siberian Elm, Russian Olive, Velvet Ash, and Honeysuckles. These plants will choke out the native vegetation due to their aggressive spreading nature, which impacts the other plant and animal species in those ecosystems.

We need YOUR help on Thursday September 30th from 9am - 1pm.

Register to work on this important project during this year's Creek Week! We will limit this project to 25 volunteers. Volunteers for this project must be ages 12 or older.
